Gentamicin, Betamethasone and Clotrimazole Cream

GENTAMICIN, BETAMETHASONE, AND CLOTRIMAZOLE Cream is indicated for the relief of inflammatory manifestations of dermatoses that respond to corticosteroid therapy, complicated with a secondary infection caused by organisms sensitive to the components of this dermatological preparation, or when the possibility of such infection is suspected. Clotrimazole has been proven effective in the treatment of athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, and Microsporum canis; candidiasis caused by Candida albicans, and pityriasis versicolor caused by Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum orbiculare). GENTAMICIN, BETAMETHASONE, AND CLOTRIMAZOLE Cream combines the sustained anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects of betamethasone dipropionate with the broad-spectrum antifungal action of clotrimazole and the antibacterial effect of gentamicin. Clotrimazole appears to act on the fungal cell membrane, causing loss of cellular contents. Gentamicin provides highly effective topical treatment for primary and secondary bacterial skin infections.
